This is a variation of the overnight oatmeal only I make it in the morning so I have something warm to eat on cold days.  Perfect to make if you are working and have to out the door in a hurry. Oats are loaded with fiber so they are good for the heart and cholesterol levels. Add some cinnamon for extra heart benefits.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 2 Tbs. seeds (pumpkin, sunflower)
  • 1 Tbs. chopped walnuts
  • 1 Tbs. real maple syrup
  • 1 cup boiled purified water
Method:
  1. In a glass jar, add rolled oats, seeds and walnuts.  Stir the dry ingredients to mix.
  2. Add maple syrup to the jar.
  3. Keep a spoon in the jar to help conduct the heat of the boiling water so the glass doesn't crack.
  4. Add one cup of boiling water to the mixture.
  5. Cover the jar with a small plate to keep the heat in for 5 minutes.
  6. After five minutes, remove the plate and it's ready to eat.  Put on a jar lid so you can take it with you to work.
