Lemon Ginger Drink

This first thing in the morning hydration is from FMTV.  The five day juice fast recommends a ginger shot which uses half an apple and ginger.  I prefer this for my first drink of the day as I love lemons.
Recipe:
  • ​juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • about 1/2 inch chunk of ginger
  • purified water
​Mix the juice water and ginger in your Nutribullet.  I like to use the Nutribullet for my first juice as I usually use it again for a smoothie or some other juice. This saves on clean up.

​Nutritional Benefits:
​Lemons:  
  • ​aids digestion by increasing stomach acid
  • promotes bile formation which supports the liver
  • improves the absorption of minerals
  • cleanses the blood
  • useful in treating high blood pressure
  • acts as a laxative and diuretic so assists in weight loss
  • alleviates flatulence
​Ginger:
  • ​stimulates digestion
  • boosts circulation, respiration and nervous system function
  • helps assist cleansing of the skin, bowels and kidneys
  • is an anti-inflammatory
  • normalizes blood pressure
  • helps support the liver and promotes the release of bile
