I went to Country Grocer on Bowen Road, Nanaimo and bought most of my ingredients for my juice fast. The grocery bill was $80.00. Not bad as most of the ingredients were organic.
I already have a Nutribullet and a Hamilton Beach Juicer. Both of which I bought some time ago when they were on sale I think they both came from Canadian Tire. You don't need to have both but I like the Nutribullet for the spinach, kale, herbs and the frozen fruit which increases my fiber intake and reduces the amount of waste. It takes a lot of spinach to get enough juice out of it. Okay, here's the list that Jason Vale includes in his amazing book.
Shopping List: (buy organic if the price allows/ if it's got a thick skin like bananas and oranges, save your money)
Jason Vale says that if you are absolutely starving, you can have 1 avocado or 1 banana on that day. You can NOT bank up your bananas or avocados. That's just silly and counter-productive. When I did this fast before, I only had to eat an avocado once. This is an emergency situation only.
What your day looks like:
